I was asked by the Hachette Book Group in the US to produce artwork for one of their novelty desktop items, in this case the Desktop Skatepark where the art would go on packaging, a booklet and some stickers to customise the mini fingerboard that comes in the box.

I wanted the overall artwork to grab the eyes and show off a vibrancy to the product. I'm interested in drawing abstract patterns and using textures to add a little bit of grit to the artwork. I wanted my abstract shapes to visually flow with the idea of movement and obstacles that link back to finger skateboarding.

The booklet acts as a mini guide to the world of finger boarding and I was asked to produce some spot and page illustrations for it. Again I followed my own art direction from the box design and had a lot of fun turning the hand into a character in it's own right. 

Seen as the stickers would be quite small, I wanted the designs to be very graphic and vibrant so they would stand out on the finger board deck.
